HubPages is a home for an incredibly diverse and expansive library of articles. The site recently separated into 26 sub-sites that all required an individual look. Ohno was tasked with creating a logotype for each that matched the subject matter, and could be easily read and recognized at small sizes. The rules for the project were simple: no marks or illustrations, no colors, and as much diversity as possible, while keeping within the genre of connected scripts. At the beginning, I was uneasy about the lack of differentiation possible within that style, but at the end of the project, it was clear I was only scratching the surface of what is possible! What a joy.
