Ohno Type School
For the price of a sixer, you can get a 64 page .pdf that goes over a–z in upper and lowercase. Learn the terms, conventions, and optical tricks from the whacky world of fonts. Though intended for budding type designers, this book can be useful to anyone that works with type. Designed by Carina Huynh, edited by Tânia Raposo, and funded by a grant from Studio Mococco. 2021.
As a small bonus, Degular Display Light, a font we leaned on heavily for the diagrams in the book, is included. You can specify the licensing you need for that below, but honestly, most folks will just need the 1-3 user Desktop license. But yeah, it’s obviously more about the .pdf here, which comes in the download. It comes in at a whopping 24.7mb, so please enjoy it in all its uncompressed glory!
