The lovely team at Canva got in touch with us for the rebrand of Affinity, their professional-level graphics software. We were honored to contribute something so deeply related to the graphic arts. We took our existing typeface Swear to a new place to make it a distinct and ownable representation of their brand. The Canva team pushed beyond expected solutions to create a unique family of six styles to assist in their “fresh.af” ad campaign. It was news to us when the rollout began and Affinity announced the software was free for everyone. That was quite a surprise, and we were thrilled to be involved.

Early explorations looked at many different options for serifs in roman and italic. Eventually they landed on the bottom right, and refinement began.
